What is Conscious Recovery?

Conscious Recovery is a treatment modality that helps adults and adolescents struggling with addiction, mental health, disordered eating. Conscious Recovery is a suite of behavioral health products and services, including books/workbooks, an interactive online training portal, robust curriculum, and in-person trainings. Conscious Recovery has collaborated with several PhDs who are experts in their respective fields to bring Conscious Recovery to all facets of behavioral health. Conscious Recovery is a fresh perspective on addiction that asks the question: what happens when we view ourselves or our clients as broken? What does that perspective create? What would it be like if we opened to a completely new way of viewing addiction?

About the Conscious Recovery Workbook for Teens:

The purpose of Conscious Recovery for Teens is to offer a strengths-based perspective on addiction and addictive behaviors. It is intended to be a self-guided tool that can enhance any program, therapy, or support group in which you are already engaged. This workbook is not a clinical service, but rather an educational resource. Its aim is not to provide definitive answers, but to introduce questions that can assist you in accessing your own inner wisdom and rediscover your true nature.

As is stated in the original Conscious Recovery Workbook – you are your own best teacher, and you hold the key to ending your own suffering. Conscious Recovery for Teens can assist you in deepening your understanding of addiction, provide you a roadmap toward liberation, and offer tools to assist you in living your most dynamic and connected life. It’s intended to be worked through slowly, in collaboration with your parents or caregivers if possible, and our encouragement is that you take your time in completing the processes and journaling questions.

This workbook will also introduce you to the concepts of the “Inner Villain” and “Inner Superhero.” Inside each of us is our own deep knowing we our born with-The Superhero-that part of ourselves that is whole and perfect, and over time we develop the Villain or the Belief Systems that may tell us we are broken, also referred to as the “BS Villain”. To be clear The BS Villain is not “bad” rather it represents a set of core false beliefs or Belief Systems and behaviors that often develop as ways to keep us protected, what Conscious Recovery refers to as brilliant strategies. However, over time these beliefs and behaviors may no longer serve you, the stories we have started to believe overtime which may or may not be true.
