Conscious Recovery, a nationally recognized behavioral health treatment modality, has incorporated!

With this expansion, Conscious Recovery can now support more behavioral health treatment programs and clinicians in private practice than ever before. What was once a company of one (Founder TJ Woodward) has blossomed into a corporation made up of four founding partners and an advisory board made up of some of the most prominent people in the behavioral health industry.

It Started as a Book

5 years ago TJ Woodward founded Conscious Recovery and the Conscious Recovery Method. When Conscious Recovery was published, the response from people in recovery and professionals in the field was overwhelming. TJ then began to ask “what would it create if treatment programs could use Conscious Recovery to support their entire program?”. TJ created Conscious Recovery curriculum and started introducing it to treatment programs in the Bay Area.  Conscious Recovery has since expanded to 4 dedicated team members, 4 founding partners, a 3 person advisory board, and is used in over 30 treatment centers nationwide.

Now it’s so Much More.

Conscious Recovery started as a book only a few short years ago, and has expanded to include a suite of products and services to support the behavioral health field at large.

Conscious Recovery Tracks:

Conscious Recovery Experience Training:

The Conscious Recovery Training is vastly different than typical clinical trainings. One of the very first instructions during the training is to put down notebooks and pens, as the training is something to be EXPERIENCED rather than LEARNED. In the one-day training, treatment center employees are introduced to the founding principles and practices of Conscious Recovery, and together they learn the mechanics behind holding space, the impact of how clients are viewed, and how to facilitate Conscious Recovery process groups. The in-person trainings at treatment centers are often regarded more as self-care than clinical training, and staff express their gratitude for the experiential approach Conscious Recovery takes.
